THERE are a lot of migrants here in Spain. Most of them come from Scandinavian and British countries. They love it here for entirely different reasons at all. The ones from the Scandinavian countries are mostly nudists. And they cannot erect nudist beaches in their country because it’s too cold even during summer. But they surely can here in Spain because the Mediterranean areas are warm at about 18 degrees Celsius during summertime. But during winter, they still want to stay here because it’s still warmer here than in Northern Europe.And so aside from the nudist beaches, they have purchased properties here. There are different kinds of properties in Spain. If you are in an urban area such as Madrid, Barcelona or Benidorm and Valencia, you may be living in a condominium. If you want to rent or even purchase a condominium unit, make sure that you have your lawyer around with you. But it’s still better to scout for properties twice during the year – during summer and during winter. Summer has long been gone and winter is approaching so let’s discuss what’s in store for you this winter here in Spain.

In Madrid, it tends to get cold and you can just chill out in your own condominium unit. For obvious reasons, you cannot grill in a condominium unit but condominium units or apartments usually have their poolside where residents have the benefits of organizing barbecue parties. Grills are even provided and are packaged with the rent. You can just grill here and organize your own little barbecue party. There’s an abundance of food actually here in Spain even during winter season when most crops are covered in snow. To compensate for this, substitute your meals with seafood and the most nutritious meat in Europe. I’m talking here about lamb. Lamb is one of the yummiest meats you can find here in Spain.

You can grill lamb meat here and shape it into a shawarma. Spain may not be Jewish but lots of Jewish influences have seeped into their gastronomic system. That’s probably because of the abundance of lamb here. Or you may cook the grilled meat the kebab or the kosher way, that entirely depends on you. You can find recipes online for that. That’s one way to entertain you during winter when the coldness seeps in. Of course, you need to don yourself with lots of clothing during this period so as for the cold not to simmer into your body.

In the rural areas, there are different types of accommodations and living quarters for our foreign expatriates. There’s a villa which is a highly exclusive area. In a villa, you usually have your own butler to assist you if you’re living alone. And even if you have a wife with you, you really need a butler and gardener to maintain cleanliness in the sprawling property. Always make sure that your property has been installed the proper security system. This may come in handy you know. Some have even went to the extent of installing a panic room inside the basement of their houses.
